Meditation Structure
Time, place, and intention.

A home is built from foundation and structure.
Meditation and meditation practice isn’t all that different.
A home is built intentionally, with time, in a particular place.
Meditation and meditation practice isn’t all that different.
If we’re lucky, home is a place of connection, comfort, peace, solace.
We observe it - how the paint chips, how it weathers, how it withstands the test of time.
We come to know it intimately well - where the floor bends, where the light falls at each time of day, how a smile lands across someone's face.
If we’re lucky, we have experienced a place where we can show up no matter our condition.
We trust it as a place to where we can return - again and again.
Meditation practice isn't all that different.
But before it becomes all of what it is,
it is built with time, on a foundation; built with structure, with intention.
Meditation practice isn’t all that different.
Meditation practice is a form of homecoming.
With a bit of structure, it’s a place to return to.
A place to observe from.
A place to connect, find comfort, peace, solace.
With time, intention, and in a particular place,
meditation practice becomes a home built gently.
A home we come to know intimately well.

I am now offering a virtual monthly meditation group. This Sunday, March 3rd, 2024, I will be offering ideas on meditation structure:
How is one created?
How is it formed in way that is long-lasting?
What is the role of practicality and commitment?
How do we aim for structure but avoid rigidity?
For practice, I recommend a small cushion or something that offers a comfortable seat. Dress so that the body is warm. A blanket can be nice settling.
If you have interest in joining, please be in touch.
Thank you,
Kayla
